Music Psychotherapy

Music communicates feelings as powerfully as words. This is a space we may be using a blend of music and talking. How you would like to use the music and/or words depend on you. It may be different in each therapy sessions.

You do not need musical skills to be in music psychotherapy. We may be spontaneously creating music together. We may be listening, singing, writing and/or analyzing songs that are meaningful to you. We may be taking turns in having some spontaneous musical conversations. We may be talking. We may also use some arts material if you wish. There is no limit to the creativity on how you'd like to use the space. This is a journey we embark together. I will be there to listen to you and to understand how you see the world from your perspective. We will work together to find meaning and bring changes to life.

Music psychotherapy can help people with a range of mental health issues and emotional difficulties. These may include:

  • anxiety

  • low mood and depression

  • suicidal thoughts
